OCA's Mission

The mission of Ohio Citizen Advocates for Chemical Dependency Prevention and Treatment is to eliminate the stigma and discrimination associated with alcohol and other drug addiction by:  

  • educating the public that alcohol and other drug addiction is a preventable, treatable medical illness,  
  • reducing barriers to treatment, and  
  • advocating for a system of care that supports a continuum of effective alcohol and other drug services.

Recovery Voices Count!

OCA was again selected to lead the state in a national campaign with Faces and Voices of Recovery for Election 2010.  The campaign will:

  • Work to get people registered to vote
  • Educate voters on issues and candidates that impact the lives of people in recovery from the addiction to alcohol and other drugs
  • Encourage and help voters "GET OUT THE VOTE"
