September is Recovery Month

Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover.

 Ohio Rally for Recovery!

Ohio celebrated recovery on September 12, 2012 in a big way with a Rally for Recovery! on the south lawn of the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus! The large crowd was entertained by Tim Owings-One Man Band, and the Short Stop Band.  Hot dogs were plentiful, speakers Courtney Rose and Renee Jones truly inspirational, 20+ exhibits, and presentation of the Sister Ignatia award to Ginny O'Keefe, a remarkable woman.  The event was topped off with our traditional Recovery Countdown led by emcee Jim Joyner, as hundreds in long-term recovery took the steps of the Statehouse to symbolize the reality of recovery!
