November 2, 2010 is election day! Ohio Citizen Advocates was selected to lead Ohio in a national campaign led by Faces & Voices of Recovery for Election 2010. As part of the Recovery Voices Count campaign we are working to:
- Register voters in the Recovery Community
- Educate voters and candidates on issues that impact the lives of people in recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs
- Encourage and help voters "GET OUT THE VOTE"
By getting involved in the Recovery Voices Count campaign we will demonstrate to policy makers that the Recovery Community is a constituency of consequence!
Get involved today! Volunteers are needed to help with the campaign by registering voters and making reminder phone calls to new voters. To volunteer just a few hours of your time click here.
Candidate Education
Many important elected positions will be decided on November 2nd. A governor will be elected. A senator will be elected to represent Ohio in Washington. Eighteen senators and 99 representatives will be elected to the Ohio legislature. It is critical for all the candidates to hear from the Recovery Community about what is important to us! You can help with this by meeting with the candidates from your district and attending or sponsoring candidate nights in your community. Use the Candidate Pledge and Recovery Bill of Rights to guide your conversation with candidates.
Use the links below to find your district and contact information for the candidates who are running in each district.
2010 Voter Guide now available! More than 300 candidates received a Candidate Pledge to sign. OCA's Election 2010 Voter Guide is full of information about where your candidates stand on
